Welcome…

Welcome… to the Landport Journal.

This is Josh Greene speaking, co-founder (along with Jack Lattin) of Landport Productions. Allow me to walk you through what you are about to experience and why we hope it’ll be the start of something special here at Landport.

Landport Productions started as a film production company, but our vision for this company is stronger than that.

By embarking on our first ever online journal, we aim to expand our creativity beyond just physical production of exciting film and branded projects.

You see, film and video projects, from start to finish, take days, weeks, months, and even years to complete. Most people who work in this industry can attest to that. The joy of writing, however, allows us to continue expressing ourselves creatively and simultaneously, while multiple projects are in the pipeline. It’s a way for us to react or comment quickly, to a film we saw or a trend we’re noticing. As filmmakers, most, if not all of us, are also writers, in one way shape or form. That is especially true when it comes to our growing team here at Landport.

So what exactly will the Landport Journal look and feel like? What is it?

The new Landport Journal will be a one-stop location for all things film, TV, and culture related. This includes reviews, columns, analysis, news, creative writing, and more.

The best part about it is… we are opening it up to YOU, our readers, colleagues, and fellow film enthusiasts, to contribute and engage with the Journal as you so wish!

What does that mean, exactly? Let’s say there’s a new film you saw that you’ve been itching to share your perspective about. Or perhaps you’ve always really wanted to share a list of your favorite documentary cameras that you saw were used in last year’s Sundance slate. Maybe you’ve noticed a trend in the branded storytelling space that you want to dissect.

In the Landport Journal, we’ll be doing all of that and more.

Just as society is witnessing a widening gap between the working class and top 1% (see, we aren’t afraid to share opinions here), the same could be said about the direction we are heading in the film industry. While in many ways people have more tools to create and share their work than ever before, there is also many more challenges and competition than ever before. Therefore, the Landport Journal aims to provide a voice for more film enthusiasts and content creators to share their thoughts with the internet (and thus, the world).

Landport Productions is first and foremost a company; however, by launching initiatives like this journal, we are also hoping to create a collective.

Landport strives to expand our network of talented creators, and we invite you to test drive this latest endeavor.
